It all began with a vision.

Hi, I’m John, the craftsman behind Old Oake Barrel, based in Waterloo, Michigan. I started this business in 2022 out of a love for woodworking, a respect for the heritage of American whiskey, and a passion for reclaiming materials with a story.

What began as a creative side project—repurposing old bourbon barrels in my garage—quickly evolved into something more meaningful. I realized these barrels, rich in character and history, deserved a second life. That’s when Old Oake Barrel was born.

Today, I specialize in crafting custom furniture, liquor cabinets, wall displays, and decor pieces from reclaimed, furniture-grade bourbon and whiskey barrels. Every piece is handmade, one-of-a-kind, and built to spark conversation.

At Old Oake Barrel, it's about more than woodworking—it's about giving old wood new purpose, honoring tradition, and creating pieces that live on for many more years to come.

Built with Bourbon in its Bones.
